COASTAL ENERGY ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Coastal Energy Co. has appointed Forrest Wylie as a non-executive director of the company, with effect from today.

Mr. Wylie served previously on the board of the company as a non-executive director from September, 2006, to April, 2011, when he stepped down due to time constraints as chairman and chief executive officer at Buckeye Partners LP, the New York Stock Exchange-listed mid-stream company.

Mr. Wylie has extensive experience in the oil and gas industry. He was CEO of Buckeye Partners from 2007 to 2012, since then he has continued to serve as non-executive chairman. He is also a non-executive director of Cross Group Inc., a marine and offshore services provider, and USA Compression GP LLC, the NYSE-listed provider of compression units and services to the offshore industry. He was previously on the boards of Pacific Energy Management LLC, NuCoastal Corp. and Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc.
