re: wifi capable units

re: wifi capable units

I'm imagining the difficuly for these large chains if they install antennas that need to be programmed in store vs over the internet. Each individual outlet would need trained personel that could program the day's deals. That alone would be a major undertaking for the parent company. And I can imagine the reams of instructions and querries back and forth from a thousand or so outlets on a daily basis. No wonder we have been so long getting going.

With the new wifi enabled units the head office can handle all of that with a couple of employees. Because these large chains are located accross the country doing business with a widely varried clientelle and the back end reporting being instantly available at the head office, they will have the ability to tailor the "pitch" in a highly pertinent way. Almost instantly.

I saw no indication that the outlets would be providing free wifi to it's customers. Nor do I expect they will be pestering those customers with anything other than offers previously described as "opt in" or "decline".

The ISign universe is expanding as it should.
