RE: RE: Great post on Investor Village

I'm always skeptical of the motivation for posts like that one. It's obvious the author spent a lot of time putting it together yet claims to own no shares. I guess his time is free and he's just doing it out of the goodness of his heart. Yeah, right!

Mixed in with the inaccuracies and questionable logic there is a lot of facts (A LOT) that are well known and easily obtained. Why? I think it's to lend an air of legitimacy to the entire post which would otherwise reveal itself for what it is.

There is only one reason for anyone, including me, to post about a stock in any forum. To make money. Posters who are long make no attempt to hide it and it's obvious why they take the time to post. My time is valuable to me. If I sold all my Mart shares this board would not see another post from me until I owned Mart shares again. There's no value to me in posting at length about a stock I don't own, unless I'm:

  1. trying to get back in at a much lower price
  2. waiting for an opportunity to cover my short position

It's not rocket science.
