K3
K3 For those of you frustrated with the drilling timeline.........Drilling in the Kurdistan region is very difficult, yes they were able to get down to the seal rock in good time but from there on its becomes quite difficult. The seal is very dense rock so drilling is very slow. I'm quite sure it is very hard on bits so a number of trips in and out for bit change may be required. They will drill slow, monitor pressures, monitor cuttings closely, watch for mud gas closely. Once they get through the top seal and see the reservoir top they will likely run casing. This takes quite sometime. Then they will time drill slowly into the zone.
I have no problem with the drilling timeline. TLM are paying very close attention to prevent drilling problems. Have a look at the drilling reports on the Drill Search Taz well. Many well bore problems and a few side tracks so far. K2 took a long time but the well was completed safely with no wellbore loss.
K2 will also be a good producer once the workover is completed.
K3 I feel will still have a high GOR, my thoughts are the reservoir is very saturated with light hydrocarbons so gas will still be a challenge. I hope I'm wrong...............
All the best
