Don't think there's such a term oil shell. Should be shale as you pointed out. Mentioned oil inflow too.. Think he meant oil sample by MDT? Or simply sighted oil in mud. Think there was gas reading indicating hydrocarbons but measured up to C4? oil is C5 and above.. Personally don't think the presence of shale causes well instability? It's probably formation damage caused by drilling fluid?? IMHO
