Puda Coal Inc PUDA

Puda Coal, Inc. (Puda) is a supplier of high-grade metallurgical coking coal to the industrial sector in the People’s Republic of China (the PRC or China). Its processed coking coal is primarily purchased by coke and steel producers for the purpose of making the coke required for the steel manufacturing process. Puda’s operations are conducted by Shanxi Puda Coal Group Co., Ltd (Shanxi Coal), which it controls through 90% indirect equity ownership. Puda cleans raw coking coal sourced from third-party coal mines primarily located in Liulin County, Shanxi Province, and markets the cleaned, coking coal to coke and steel makers. Its primary geographic markets include Shanxi Province, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Hebei Province, Beijing and Tianjin, China. It purchases raw coal from a diversified pool of local coal mines in Shanxi Province.

Motion to Intervene in the Class Action

Motion to Intervene in the Class Action

Not going to get to far in the weeds with this, but something has been going on within and among the Plaintiffs legal counsel affecting the appointed lead Plaintiffs.

There has been a legal challenge and a motion for summary judgment that I mention briefly several weeks ago. The judge had set aside some court time for arguments and now one of the major plaintiffs,  Trellus Management Company has filed a motion to Intervene, essentially asking to replace the Lead Plaintiffs and their Counsel.

Apparently the argument is that this would save court time and money to simply replace the lead plaintiffs and their counsel and cancel the upcoming arguments and hearing.

All this is legal wrangling, so I will stay away from trying to explain why all this is going on. But basically it's a lawyer thing and has to do with a fight between lawyers over what seems to be very little money in the case...
