Oil & Gas supporters can breath a huge sigh of relief tonight. It looks like the Liberals will win re-election in BC. The good news for the oil & gas industry is that heavy crude will now have a better chance of making it from the interior to tide water. Just the prospect of it should narrow differentials a little.

The Liberals support the plans providing that new proposals can demonstrate environmental assurances and maybe a little "pot sweetening" from Alberta. The NPD (Dix) would place the highest scrutiny on oil and gas export terminals - which translates to a NO, IT WOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED.

This is more than a win for BC. It is also a win for Alberta Oil & Gas.
