RE: Seems ironic

RE: Seems ironic

I totally agree cliffvb.  This was a big reason why I thought the contract would continue with AM.  Obviously I was wrong.  It does seem odd to hold out a hand for funding from the Canadian Govt. while virtually shutting down a Canadian company which has served Ford very well over the years.  CAW cannot be very happy either.  While hopefully most AM workers will be rehired by Ford, the net gain in employment will be zero or less as far as these auto components go.

But it does make sense that if AM was so profitable manufacturing these components, Ford will achieve considerable cost cutting benefits doing it in-house. C'est la vie.
