Good post orzee.  And though I have my doubts that CEC will be able to rectify the situation I will say again I do agree that mining can be done safely and things can be worked out.  The steadfast and in breakable opposition comes in the areas where the company is unable or has been unwilling to budge.  #1 they have been unwilling to seriously consider and advocate for use of the railway, which would dramatically lessen the impact on local infrastructure, taxpayer expense and local people.  And #2 they are unable to deal with the CO2 issue their coal will produce, it is simply the nature of the beast of that particular mine and will be fought no matter what they do.
