RE: Clearwater Phase 1 Approval

RE: Clearwater Phase 1 Approval

AOS estimated six weeks ago that a decision from ERCB (yes/no/hearing) would come in three weeks. Meanwhile, ERCB claims a pending decision on the UDSR is not a factor in any delays in completing their review of AOS's application. Believe that if you want to. An announcement on the UDSR is rumoured for June.

In AOS's 2012 year end report, they disclosed that leases in the LARP have been cancelled and that AOS is preparing an estimate of costs related to the lease to apply for compensation.

Now considering how depressed oilsands economics are these days, and that AOS is in no position to raise $100 million for the Clearwater pilot, the best outcome could be that Fort Mac gains a veto by virtue of the UDSR, which in all likelihood would kill the project. Compensation would begin with the $50 million AOS claims to have invested in exploration and project planning to date, plus foregone profits.
