RE: RE: RE: RE: SidetrackI love reading these boards sooo little clue about actual drilling operations. The evaluation of geology is done by analyzing the drilling cuttings returned in the mud. You calculate circulation and time the collection of cutting samples that would return from whatever depth you are interested in sampling. Even with logging you really do not know what you hit Untill you test the well. These guys have spent an easy 1.5 million on fuel to drill this well alone, I could only imagine the mud chemicals and water bill they have rung in. What ever it is down there they are determined to get it. I would be really interested to see what it is. You will rarely ever see a company try four or five times to go after any old run of the mill well. The lost circulation part is very troubling though. Circulation is the heart of drilling. If you can circulate you can drill no matter what you are after. Setting casing in situations where you got poor circulation is very hard if not impossible too. >
