Enpar signs Asian licensing deal with Apsu

2013-05-27 09:42 ET - News Release

Dr. Gene Shelp reports

ORDER ADDITIONAL COMMERCIAL UNITS FOR ASIAN MARKET

Enpar Technologies Inc. and Apsu Water Technology Inc.'s relationship has moved to the next step with the signing of a five-year business co-operation and licensing agreement. Apsu will market Enpar's suite of novel water treatment technologies for specific applications within several regions of Asia.

Over the past two months, Apsu and an experienced scientific team in India have rigorously tested Enpar's electrochemical water treatment system. The preliminary results indicate that the system represents an effective approach for the treatment of major groundwater issues currently facing the Asian governments, including arsenic, fluoride, nitrate, bacteria and viruses.

Tom Tranfaglia, founder and chairman of Apsu, stated: "Apsu has been looking for a partner to tackle Asia's contaminated water problems, and Enpar's state-of-the-art ESD technology can provide the solution. We believe that it can make a difference to the region's major health care issues and also promote many successful local businesses, which will promote further development in their area."

As per the agreement, Apsu has ordered three additional small-scale systems for testing market opportunities that have arisen from these encouraging results.

Dr. Shelp commented: "As previously stated, Enpar's success in developing water markets is closely tied to strategic partners. By moving our relationship to the next level, Apsu is demonstrating its commitment to Enpar and to introducing the best available technologies for addressing major water issues in India and other parts of Asia. Enpar is pleased to assist Apsu in fully developing these business opportunities."

Currently, many Asian countries treat less than 10 per cent of all waste water. Drinking water is purchased by 60 per cent of the population as bottled water, and as an example, about 25 per cent of China's population drink contaminated water every day. Also, water contamination is becoming a serious issue for food preparation and processing, as well as for the environment.

It is anticipated that the market in Asia for treatment of waste water and drinking water will reach $117-billion (U.S.) by the year 2015. Yet, this will result in only a 20-per-cent increase in overall treatment.

We seek Safe Harbor.
