ProShares Short SmallCap600 T.SBB

Primary Symbol: SBB

The investment seeks daily investment results that correspond to the inverse (-1x) of the daily performance of the S&P SmallCap 600 Index. The fund invests in financial instruments that ProShare Advisors believes, in combination, should produce daily returns consistent with the funds investment objective. The index is a measure of small-cap company U.S. stock market performance. It is a float-adjusted, market capitalization-weighted index of 600 U.S. operating companies selected through a process that factors in criteria such as liquidity, price, market capitalization, financial viability and public float. The fund is non-diversified.

RE: takeover

RE: takeover

I should amend that comment a bit.

The large mining companies have got a mountain of headaches to deal with right now and no way are they going to be looking at doing any buyouts.

However, as one of the speakers at the Vancouver conference pointed out- there are other people out there with money.  Private equity firms, etc.  So even though the old holy grail of juniors of getting bought out by Barrick or Goldcorp or whatever is no longer in the cards, that doesn't mean there may not be buyouts on the horizon.

Checking my notes to see who made that comment- Lawrence Roulston.

Another thing is, we know that with all the money printing that's been going on in recent years, SOMEWHERE there are big piles of money with people wondering what to do with it.  I think it is reasonable to expect that some of it may gradually trickle into junior precious metals companies.
