See link below that describes Brazilian plans for potash plants with the Amazon noted as possible site(s).  Rosneft meeting might have focused on NG pipeline to monetize the findings to date.  [How much in revenues at world rates does 1.5 Tcf generate, with more NG to come? $18 Billion?]

Russians are known to be Jerry McGuire-like: "Show me the $$$."  Rosneft is expanding its gas holdings in Russia, which is raising its status as a primary competitor to Gazprom.  Why not be Brazil's top dog from the get-go with PBR as a partner?
