Although I got massacred in the crash of 2008, one thing that kept me from doing even worse was "flight to quality" as the junior resource companies got so badly hammered even the very best got dirt cheap so I switched from the more marginal ones I owned and went with ones that seemed much better companies, especially Sabina which is the stock that saved my retirement post 2008.
However, it stands to reason that in an upturn it may be prudent to adopt the opposite strategy. I would call this the "flight to cra**iness".
It may be premature to assume we have begun an extended recover in precious metals, but I definitely have my eye out for cra**y stocks to invest in right now.
