So people are comfortable with the ridiculous salaries/bonuses the chief and chairman are paying themselves?

I don't know how this compares to other Canadian companies, but as an Aussie I consider them  ridiculously exorbitant in comparison to resource companies of the same size, and even bigger, that are listed on the ASX.

As one prominent research analyst in Australia recently said to me when I queried TGZ:

"These blokes not only seem to think they are still working for Barrick, they seem to think they ARE Barrick. I've tried to cover this company before but they have their heads stuck so far up their ***es, it's not worth the hassle."

Couldn't care less personally what happens given the tiny handful of shares I've got, but I hope the vote provides a straong, clear msg that the poor shareholders are not happy with management's excesses.
