RE: RE: Volume LTS
RE: RE: Volume LTS Thanks Itrabs for the link. It is interesting that Lightstream management says that waterflooding will not work in the Bakken and Crescent Pt mgmt has implemented a waterflood and it's working well. What is up with that? I would not think the reservoir rock is that much different. That would be a good question for the next Q CC.
I have always thought of a gas flood EOR like using soap to wash oil off your hands. Helps reduce the surface tension so the oil is released from the rock - and there is huge amounts ot surface area that the oil is clinging to.
In any event, the continued success of lightstream's EOR is a big deal in my view. The fact that the reserve auditor let them claim reserves was a real postive. If the results continue to be positive and the reserves auditor allows them to claim more reserves from EOR, that is a big deal. You have invested all this expensive infracture in wells and facilities - the incremental costs is not near as expensive. I would be interested to know what the incremental costs for a BOE of EOR oil in fact are.
Did anyone see the price of Alberta light today? $109/BBL How long it will continue who knows -every little bit helps.
