My comments were more just for investors to not underestimate the interest rate problem (the end of the yield trade), as it has been too long since we saw this. If there is an exodus from these types of yield oriented stocks, nothing will be spared. There will be no bottom up analysis of this or that company. It will just be a rush to the exit from the whole category. We have seen the first stage of this already.
And you will note: Algonquin has not been spared whatsoever thus far. It has sold off as much as anything out there. . It will not be spared going forward either, until the dust settles on the whole issue. That is why I emphasized personal tolerance. In a a selloff of a category, things don't get spared. Its a mistake to think something will be, a mistake that has been repeated many many times. Examining the good points of a particular tree while the forest is on fire.
So, Algonquin will still have all the things it has going for it, but again, your tolerance for volatility will have to be considered while this situation unwinds.
