Yes, in order to qualify the shares must be "settled" in your account by June 30th.  It takes 3 business days for a transaction to settle so if you buy shares on Tuesday 25th of next week - the transaction settles, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.  If you buy on Wednesday 26th - you only have Thursday, Friday so the transaction settles Tuesday, July 2nd and you miss the holiday ( factoring in the Canada Day holiday on Monday ).
