BRI-STEEL ESTABLISHES NEW BENCHMARK IN LARGE SEAMLESS PIPE MANUFACTURING IN NORTH AMERICA
Bri-Steel Manufacturing, Bri-Chem Corp.'s thermal pipe expansion (TPE) division, has successfully produced a36-inch-diameter seamless carbon steel pipe, which is the largest seamless steel pipe manufactured to date in North America. Bri-Chem previously announced that it successfully produced a 30-inch seamless pipe; however, it has established a new benchmark with the completion of the first 36-inch seamless pipe. In addition, the 36-inch pipe manufactured was a standard wall thickness, which is generally the most difficult to produce utilizing the TPE manufacturing process, and, as a result, the company can now focus on producing heavier wall thickness 36-inch steel pipes and expand into 32- and 34-inch pipe diameters as well.
"The successful production of the 36-inch seamless pipe solidifies our position as the next generation of pioneers for large-diameter steel pipe manufacturing," commented Don Caron, chief executive officer of Bri-Chem. "This now opens the door to create more options and opportunities for Bri-Chem as we continually achieve new levels of production."
