The first CEO and second CEO have failed in different ways. The great irony is that the second CEO profited from the behaviour of the first (and then re-invested 8% of that money 2 years later with a guaranteed rate of return plus more options, all while collecting a quarter million dollar salary). But you selectively ignore that.
