RE:US Debt
RE:US Debt If you think $16 trillion of federal debt is bad.The problem is a
lot worse than that, ever heard of unfunded liabilities. That's a
nice way of saying there's no money set aside for pensions and
healthcare for all the baby boomers ready to retire.Up until now
the number of pensioners was quite low (thanks to smoking no doubt)
and yet government still found a way to go in the hole (Ingenious devils).
Now just imagine having to support all those boomers. If a person makes
it to 95 that's 30 years of pension and healthcare that could cost over
$1 mil for that pensioner. The rates for dementia are also increasing at
a steady rate and as people are living longer will be a major expense.
Now factor in lower birth rates and Houston we have a serious problem.
How much money is required over the next 50-75 years to cover unfunded
liabilities? The estimates range from $75 - $175 trillion?????????????????????
Even Buffett would consider that a whole whack of dough.
The Republicans & Democrats remind me of the violinists entertaining
people on the Titanic. They keep playing the same old song until the
water is above their necks, then they grab a snorkel and play some more.
Anyone who thinks politicians won't have the printing presses
going day and night.Good luck.
I got a feeling the demand for gold and shotguns will be increasing.
Too big to fail? Just longer to fail.
