Old but still Brilliant

Old but still Brilliant
This guy even got an invitation from Allana management to visit the project site. He is that valuable. He is full of great information on all things Africa and Ag related.
He is recommended reading for any investor looking at Africa and Ethiopia in particular. After reading his reports you come away feeling like the world is a perfect place.
=====================
This is an oldie but it is a glimpe into a great mind. I like the bit on SOP. Can Allana produce SOP?

Cam Readonsaid:

Some very good points you’ve highlighted here Alessandro. I think you’ve laid out much of the African potential for everyone, but I believe there are a couple other very promising aspects as they relate to Allana’s potash project in Ethiopia very much worthy of mention. Firstly, while the data is still not yet collated and disseminated, Ethiopia’s Agricultural Transformation Agency’s soil data mapping program will soon confirm where and to what degree the nation’s soil will require what fertilizers. It is well known however that virtually all Sub Sahara Africa’s soils have been systematically depleted of nutrients and will require intensive application just to bring them to levels they can produce crops of any measure, followed by supplementary regimes thereafter. Allana Potash stands to benefit alongside Yara in supplying Ethiopia and the COMESA region through a domestic source of both MOP and SOP once optimal modern fertilizer application is fully determined and practiced. Ethiopian Sugar Corporation alone may very well require upwards of 250,000 tons of MOP per year at full production at all ten plantation/refineries should and once optimal KCI application regimens come into practice. It is also worthy of note that Ethiopian Sugar Corp is dedicating much of their capacity toward the production of ethanol to power their vehicles and cookstoves, etc. in place of the current petroleum deficit the nation incurs at the cost of valuable foreign exchange. Other crops in the form of wheat, corn, cotton, palm oil, etc. also will drive demand in COMESA, an area where Allana Potash holds captive market advantage over all other players hands down on cost, logistics and timelines.
