For anybody that plans on holding for a period of time it doesn't mean much, as a take-out will value the deposit and the two companies shares exactly proportional. For arbitragers the dislocations create some opportunities, but those opportunities need to be weighted against the efficiency of getting fills at the desired prices. I admit that a 10% dislocation is significant but not doing a trade is often better than only getting half of a trade done.
