Possible permitting scenario

Possible permitting scenario
If all goes as planned, this is the possible scenario:

Federal
  1. 30-day public comment period on “Summary” ends September 13, 2013
  2. Comments go back to entire Ministry and affiliates, along with full document, for final in-depth review to make the Draft Comprehensive Study Report (CSR) (their version of the EIS) – 10 weeks
  3. Draft CSR goes to Ministers for finalization up to 6 weeks
  4. CSR posted for final public and aboriginal comment and consultation – 10-weeks 30 days
  5. Decision by Minister – sometime between –January- February 2014
  6. Shore invited to apply for Permit
Provincial
  1. Once all supplemental information is received and collated into a single document, then has 30 days to do a “double-check” with public – 30 –days
  2. Final public review – 30-days
  3. Decision – 30-days - sometime between December 2013-January 2014
Note:
  1. Posting done on the Major Projects Management Office website at https://www2.mpmo-bggp.gc.ca/MPTracker/project-projet-03.aspx?pid=92&psid=0 are sometimes delayed or inaccurate, as they update the website based upon input from several affiliates, as they are designed to be an overseer of major projects
  2. Stakeholders can make complaints to Government stemming from the review process, but Government may or may not deem the complaints as “not project delaying” or “not project terminating” based on any number of issues including a failure to engage in discussions
