Thanks for that. I think RBC has many skill levels in their call center but the lowest levels probably have not even heard of naked shorting. I felt I was up a little higher in the skill set with the person I talked to, but I wasn't sure.  Many of those people answering the phones would like to say they know just so they don't have to take the issue to the higher ups because if that's done too often, one might be viewed as incompetent.

I will read your articles  but I think you are right. Naked shorting is the equivalent of giving an absolute stranger the keys to your house so that they can enter it any hour of the day and do whatever they want. And remember they have absolutely  no vested interest.  That's quite an entitlement don't you think? And what for? Price discovery? Give me a break.  

Well I think it's clear from what I've said that you can guess where I stand on the subject. If naked shorting is still allowed you would have to wonder if the regulators really understand markets at all? And in my opinion they don't.  Naked shorting was one thing that should have been fixed after '09
