RE:RE:Too Late to Buy?
RE:RE:Too Late to Buy?if you are buying TOL simply as a takeout play, then I wouldn't bother as there are not many great deals in the energy patch these days. There ae simply too many properties up for sale.
Could TOL be the exception? of course they can.
Is TOL a good risk/reward without a takeover? I think they are but over a longer period, 1-3 years as they develop their assets.
could you lose money if you buy today and a takeover doesn't materialize in the short term? More than likely as the short-term speculators exit the stock for other quick flips.
if you want a good junior that has reasonable debt, good CF and profits, and 3 good properties that will be developed over the next 5 years, then TOL could be a good fit, but be prepared to see lower prices if a deal doesn't happen and then be prepared to wait 1-3 years for much higher SP's.
of course there is a chance that TOL will be sold and or merged with 1 or more companies and converted into a dividend payer, so that means quick profits of potentially 10-50% but if that doesn't happen then be prepared for the opposite,
This sale process seems to be controlled by TOL's managers and BODm, so if a sale is ibn the cards, it should be profitable but if a merger of equals is the route they choose which could also imply management stays at the helm of a new company, then that could, also be good news but not as profitable as an outright sale.
I'm holding in any case, and I will add on any disappointment because as investors scranble to exit this play they have to pay for their risky decisions.
I'm a buyer under 2.50 for sure.
