Stream TV Networks announced they have been able to port their 3D Glasses Free Ultra-D 2160p real time conversion technology to work with the latest Snapdragon APQ8074 application processor. This has been made possible thanks to the efforts of Intrinsyc Software International who have been able to match the latest generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Series processors with Toshiba HDMI conversion chipsets. This ensured compatibility of the Ultra-D 2160p tech with the latest generation Snapdragon 800 chip.
“The new Qualcomm 8074 is an incredible system on chip that greatly enhances the user experience in a wide range of applications, especially video games and high resolution movies” says Mathu Rajan, CEO, Stream TV Networks. “Intrinsyc’s DragonBoard development platform, Open-Q system on module, and engineering expertise has been a huge help in getting our 3D conversion technology rapidly integrated with the powerful 8074 system on chip.
The Ultra-D tech allows for real time conversion of 2D and 3d with glasses to glasses free 3D. During the process, the content is converted to 8 million pixels which the company claims has been achieved without scales but by ‘using disparity between images’. Also, the ultra-D technology can work on content from ‘satellite or cable service, VOD, Blu-ray player, XBOX or Playstation directly into the TV using Ultra-D™ 2160p technology’. That’s not all for the Ultra-D glasses free 3D tech will also be able to process content from ‘Netflix, Hulu, YouTube and other video sites’ to be ‘converted directly into glasses free 3D’. The technology will also be applicable to images which can then be transformed into 3D.
“We are excited to be able to work with Stream TV on their advanced Glasses Free 3D technology,” stated Tracy Rees, CEO, Intrinsyc. “With StreamTV’s unique 3D conversion technology running on the powerful Snapdragon 8074 platform consumers will get an incredible gaming or viewing experience.”
