Re: Hologic

Re: HologicI'm not sure what CUR's options may be but the fact that they haven't done anything makes me think their hands might be tied. Perhaps Dibah or Ready to go if they are still around have some thoughts on that? I'm pretty sure Genprobe was heading in the right direction getting PCA3 on their automated panther platform since the test could be done very efficiently and costs would drop with increased use. That is the way to go most definitley. Other than that there are probably other factors at play here. It is well known that garnering the  acceptance of any  new technology is a formidable challenge and that is obviously a problem here with PCA3 vs. PSA. It is unbelievable  with the amount of positive data backing PCA3 vs. PSA that we are stil relying on the latter . There are other interests for sure revelling in the fact that PCA3 is where it is and that health care providers continue to shovel $ at PSA because they are either unaware there is a MUCH better test available or contnue to do things just because that's the way they have always done it. Who knows .. maybe someone makes money on things for keeping things the way they are and have no incentive to change the way things are done.  Just some thoughts.
