Trading late in the day

Trading late in the day           I am waiting to see if the longs press the shorts in the last half hour or if the shorts can muster one last desperation hold.     
               
          At 2:30 today the total volume on all exchanges is nearing 2M shares. Are the shorts trying to cover or are they increasing their short position?  I am watching closely.
