Why Did Graphite Mining Stop at Miller/Asbury?...
Just wondering, but seeing that these properties were past producers, why did mining of Graphite stop?
The Miller property is said to be one of the first graphite mines in Canada starting in the mid 1800's, yet it ceased operations.
Likewise, production in Sri-Lanka which is being compared to these properties started production in the mid-1800's, if not earlier, and still has enough vein graphite to last another 100 years I believe.
I realize that CCB is still in the exploration phase and they still need further drilling, but seeing that mining operations at these sites stopped, while those in Sri Lanka continued, could it mean that there wasn't enough graphite to make this economically feasible, or is it that mining costs in Canada are much higher than that of Sri Lanka?
