Yasch, if a person is going to say another person is a man of his word then you must first pay close attention to what his words were. He did not say (paraphrasing) "I will buy BB for $9 a share" he said "If i get financial backing and if the DD pans out then I will buy BB for $9 a share"

So if he does not receiving financial backing or the DD does not pan out and the deal does not materialize, then he has in fact kept his word.
