Drilling Update - Sept 27th
Drilling Update - Sept 27thBayfield Rainy River Drilling / Exploration Update, NW Ontario:
Rainy River Burns Block drill hole RR13-11W3 is at 509 metres as of shift change this morning. We have passed below the metavolcanic and volcaniclastic sequence and into the main, hanging wall quartz porphyry dacite at 503.5 metres.
Last Reflex test at 497 metres shows azimuth of 342.8 degrees and inclination of 80.8 degrees. We are at 5.2 degrees flatter angle than the mother hole at the current depth. The rate of flattening is slowing rapidly at the present time. Using the in hand reflex data from the hole and some forward projections, we are heading for the target Intrepid system 25 to 30 metres above that in the mother hole.
This is what we are trying to achieve here, a higher cut across the system. The rapid slowing in flattening rate is good as we have already gained decent separation. It is likely that more flattening and turning will occur as we enter the main foliation at around 590 metres down hole.
