Westhaven to begin drilling at BEN in the fall

Mr. Gareth Thomas reports
CORPORATE UPDATE: WESTHAVEN TO DRILL THE BEN GOLD PROPERTY
Westhaven Ventures Inc. is providing the following corporate update, highlighting plans to drill the BEN gold property in the fall. In addition, a follow-up work program is scheduled to commence shortly on the Shovelnose gold property.
Coming exploration plans:
- Inaugural drill program on the BEN gold property: Drilling on the BEN property will target the Main zone showing where there is evidence of multistage silica flooding quartz veining and rebrecciation, coupled with anomalous geochemical values of gold, arsenic, antimony and mercury. The main zone is approximately 80 metres wide and is on strike with an extensive alteration system that appears to be over five kilometres long;
- A mapping, sampling and prospecting program on the Shovelnose gold property: This phase of work will endeavour to further extend the area covered by this auriferous silica cap with a view to finding the feeder to the system, which could lead to the discovery of higher-grade material often associated with it.
Shovelnose gold property overview
To date, 20 drill holes (two were abandoned in overburden) have been diamond drilled for a cumulative total of 2,427 metres, in three separate target areas. Gold and silver mineralization, associated with quartz veining and silicification, has been encountered in all 18 holes. In addition, there is evidence of a significant mineralized alteration system within the property.
The 18,412-hectare Shovelnose gold property is a gold-silver epithermal-style exploration target that covers prospective stratigraphy in the southern Spences Bridge gold belt (SBGB), a 110-kilometre northwest-trending belt of intermediate to felsic volcanic rocks of the Cretaceous Spences Bridge Group. Westhaven is currently working to earn up to a 70-per-cent interest in the property from Strongbow Exploration Inc., a TSX Venture Exchange-listed company.
BEN gold property overview
The BEN property is located approximately 50 km north of Williams Lake, B.C., and is easily road accessible. It consists of mineral claims comprising approximately 14,576 hectares situated in the Cariboo mining district of British Columbia. The property is in a favourable mining jurisdiction, home to several large development- and production-stage properties. Similarities exist between the Main zone and major gold-bearing areas in British Columbia including Atlin and the Bralorne gold camp. There is also similarity in alteration and structure with gold-bearing areas of the Motherlode trend of Southern California. Westhaven can earn a 100-per-cent interest in the property from a private optionor.
