I checked Wikapedia and there are eleven separate criteria. A person only has to qualify under one of these. The $300,000 net income is combined, an individual only needs $200,000 net income before taxes. Although this excludes many it still leaves a substantial number of retail investors who qualify. Also, even if one claims to be an "experienced investor" (which is not a requirement), it does not mean that one is any good at it! I count myself as one of this group.
BTW, I have not been, and never will be, an investor in Star.
