They got their licenceEthiopia Signs Agreement With Canadian Firm To Mine Potash In Afar State ADDIS ABABA, Oct 9 (BERNAMA-NNN-ENA) -- The Ethiopian Ministry of Mines has signed an agreement with Allana Potash Afar Plc, a Canadian mining company to mine potash in the Dallol area of Afar State in northern Ethiopia for the coming 20 years. The agreement signed here Monday provides for the company, a subsidiary of Toronto Stock Exchange-listed Allana Potash Corp., an exclusive right for large-scale mining on 310.176 square kilometres in Dallol. When it commences operations, Allana Potash Afar will create jobs for 800 citizens. Minister of Mines Sinkinesh Ejigu and the company's general manager, Nejib Aba Biya, signed the agreement. Potash, also known as potassium chloride, is mainly used for the production of fertiliser. -- BERNAMA-NNN-ENA
