The entire Tsilhqot'in First Nation consists of about 3,000 people. Many of these could get good jobs if the project moves forward. The potential tax benefits and employment benefits that would accrue to both the B.C. and Federal governments over the lifespan of the mine are enormous. The population of B.C. is over 4.6 million.
Personally, if the government really wanted to protect grizzly bears, I suggest that they ban sport hunting by by foreign tourists.
