RE:CEO should retire
RE:CEO should retire
Absolutely!
I listened to the conference call yesterday and Fitzgibbon sounds like a man who is finished. I cannot identify any form of enthusiasm out of that CEO. This leads to an organization with poor morale, little drive and ambition to achieve things outside their zone of comfort.
Yesterday was worse than usual for him, almost like he knows something is coming like his departure or the buyout of the company. Let's not forget that Bouchard left recently from the board and that San Juan or the CEO of L'Oreal is in since April. Something could be brewing or it is just the usual boring standard from this company.
Nonetheless, we need to keep pressuring that board of directors. They may think that the stock going from $11 to $18 this year is a great accomplishment but, nothing could be further from the truth. EPS have not bugged much from the $1.60 level for a few years now and based on this year EPS of about $1.70 U.S., we are just trading above 10 times earnings which is abysmal for that sector and a company with high profit margins. A more reasonable P/E especially with this market should be 15 times.
