QUEBEC – The best assays at a gold project are both long and strong, and that is what Metanor Resources has drilled at its Bachelor development 225 km northeast of Val d'Or. Hole 13-082 returned 12.55 metres of 17.66 g/t Au, from a depth of roughly 100 metres. That section included 8.36 metres grading 20.60 g/t. A second intersection in the same hole was 4.19 metres and graded 11.8 g/t Au.
Hole 13-082 was drilled in the A and Main zones in the eastern sector of the mine.
Metanor says it is "very encouraged" by the results as it explores these new structures. The underground drilling program is probing the E vein as well as the Main and A veins from various levels in the mine. Exploration drifts are being driven on levels 12, 13 and 14 to continue testing these veins.
Metanor president and CEO Ghislain Morin said in a news release, "We are very excited over the discovery of these new zones where the significant thickness is up to 15 meters in some areas and is so close to our current infrastructure. The next resource-reserve compilation will be very interesting."
