The last years (before AR5), he and his fellow "economist climatologist scientists" has been running around claiming 6°C warming (if we couldn't slow down CO2-emissions).
IEA have sounded worse than the James Hansens of this world, the Al Gores and Bill McKibben together.
It would have been hilarious if it wasn't so sad.
And people have been politely listening without laughing out loud, and said; Yes it is scary and Mr. Birol is certainly a wise man.
