(TSX:BSX) (the "Company" or "Belo Sun") has received notice that the Federal Judge of Altamira has granted a preliminary interlocutors decision related to the injunction sought by the Brazilian Public Prosecutor's Office ("MPF") against the State Government of Para ("SEMA") and the Company, challenging the validity and legality of the Preliminary Environmental Licensing Process (the "Licensing Process") in respect of the Volta Grande Project. The Federal Judge has granted a preliminary, temporary interlocutors decision to suspend the Licensing Process until the completion of studies of the indigenous tribes located more than 10 kilometres away from the Volta Grande Project.
The Company will take all applicable legal measures to appeal the decision of the Federal Judge and defend the validity and legality of the Licensing Process. SEMA has stated in the COEMA meeting held on November 18, 2013 that it will also challenge the injunction.
