TransGaming and 2K Announce The Bureau: Xcom Declassified is Now Available for Mac
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Dec. 3, 2013) -TransGaming Inc. (TSX VENTURE:TNG), a leader in global interactive digital media, in partnership with 2K, today announced The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, is now available for Mac. As an expansion of an ongoing partnership between TransGaming and 2K, TransGaming will publish and distribute the Mac version of The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, a daringly different blend of the strategy and action genres.
TransGaming utilized its industry-leading software translation technology, Cider, to bring the game to the Mac platform. Cider allows PC-developed games to be ported to Mac OS X platforms with minimal cost and development resources. Cider has been used to bring numerous AAA games to Mac, that were only previously available on consoles and Windows PC platforms.
"We collaborated with 2K to deliver the same intensity that fans have come to expect from The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, now for the Mac platform," said Vikas Gupta, CEO of TransGaming. "With sole publishing and distribution rights for the title on Mac, TransGaming continues to solidify its position as a leader in the Mac gaming market with an impressive game portfolio and our innovative Cider technology."
Set in 1962 at the height of the Cold War, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified tells the origin story of the underground XCOM organization and its clandestine war against an imposing alien threat. As a third-person tactical shooter, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified delivers a new experience using the classic XCOM formula by taking players out of the familiar god-like view of strategy games and dropping them into the boots special agent William Carter in the thick of combat. Using Carter's "Battle Focus" ability, players control squad mates and launch calculated attacks in order to advance and gain the upper edge. As the last line of defense, the player's every command can mean the difference between life and death for Carter, his squad and mankind.
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is rated M for Mature by the ESRB and is now available for purchase on the Mac App Store and will be available for Mac soon on Steam by Valve®. To download assets for The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, click here.
