RE:RE:RE:RE:What we got... Dare to compareBubba, it ain't the same stuff... Flake origins are organic, whereas hyrdothermal is from the earth's core. There is a wide range of variablity in graphite phyical properties like resitivity, crystallinity, iostropy, etc.
And your gold analogy is not appropriate. Gold is gold - its physical peoperties are constant and gold only comes from magmatic origins. Placer gold is simply gold that has been eroded from primary source (rock) deposits than have been eroded/weathered. It is the same gold from a common source.
Hydrothermal graphite has very different properties which make it more suitable for high-end applications. This topic has been discussed in great detail on here already.

ZEN's graphite, although ocurring at lower grade percentage of concentration) in the host rock, it actaully has far fewer impurties in than the Sri Lankan vein graphite. In addition, altough both are hydrothermal in origin, there are differeces in the prhyical properties as well. Hoov is very well versed on this subject and posted many lengthy explanations. I suggest you read up on his post history.
LIke I said, you have a lot of homework to do and this subject is far more detailed an complicated than you seem to grasp. All graphite is NOT created equal.
