Yep, I'm with you on BBM.  It's the main reason why Blackberries got the moniker "Crackberries".  The market seems to be placing zero value on this business right now, which is ridiculous when something like Snapchat is rumoured to be valued at $3-4 billion.

Re: device sales, I think going forward it only makes sense to look at BB10.  BB7 is disappearing, particularly as Android-equipped BBM phones start permeating the emerging markets.

Is 2-3M BB10 phones a quarter enough to make for a profitable hardware business?  Perhaps, but even then, will the apps come with such low volume?  If they are targetting a specific customer base, would they even care anymore about the app gap?  Assuming a three year average turnover, that means they would need 30-42 BB10 customers.
