RE:INferredMy old notes on Diavik show mineable diamond reserves in the ground (both open pit and mined underground) of 130 million carats. These reserves were carefully calculated and reported in Rio Tinto's and Aber's feasibility study. I can't verify production, but I assume that Rio Tinto and Dominion Diamond are going to get all of the reserves because they are now going underground. De Beers and Mountain Province have a diamond resource of 67.1 million carats at Gahcho Kue, but that only includes the giant Tuzo pipe down to 564 meters. As everyone knows, Patrick Evans want to sample Tuzo down to 750 meters which could possibly increase the diamond resource to around 80 million carats. It is going to take a lot to exceed Diavik because it is still considered to be the greatest and richest diamond deposit in Canadian history. But, so what? Gahcho Kue has a very high rate of return, and it is certainly World Class!
