They receive government subsidies that take away any incentive to work or invest in development. Remove the handouts and you may see a different attitude, one that welcomes employment opportunity. The feds need stop trying to be both sweet and nutritious. When you spend millions to encourage investment then tie investors' hands in red tape and concerns for a people who refuse to participate, you just waste time, money and credibility. The Americans built an empire on encouraging business, creating jobs and wealth. They have somewhat veered from that ideology of late but we Canadians have never dared go forward as our southern neighbor has done and as a result we have become but pawns for the more ambitious nations to exploit us. We should be thanking Taseko not obstructing them.
