Russian spacewalk - looking goodI am going to try to address your concerns regarding the ISS, the spacewalks and the spacesuits:
The first American spacewalk on Saturday to replace the cooling pump was a success. But after Rick Mastracchio, one of the astronauts, had re-entered the space station airlock, a problem came up in a system that handles water condensation in the spacesuit. So NASA decided to delay the second spacewalk until tomorrow so that the astronauts could prepare a spare spacesuit for Mastracchio.
The Russian spacewalk planned for Friday is completely independent from the American efforts. The Russians use their own spacesuits (called Orlan - sea eagle) and even their own airlock (called Pirs):
