We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic engineer to join our Product Development team. The successful candidate will play a range of different roles within the development process, having interactions with design, test, and manufacturing engineers in addition to customers. The team contributes to a larger group responsible for design, development, and manufacturing of a range of wavelength selective switch products. These products are heavily deployed as a key component in the backbone of the worldwide telecommunications network. Key Responsibilities: • Assess customer requirements and specifications against product performance capabilities; • Estimate yields and manufacturability of proposed future products and product variants; • Advanced data analysis to gain greater understanding of products, yields help with product improvement strategies; • Software and automated test development; • Functional testing, instrumentation, and measurement method definitions Required Qualifications What experience will allow you the greatest success in this role? • At least 2 years computer programming experience in Visual Basic, MatLab, C & C++; • Strong problem solving skills; • Knowledge of optics and optical systems, either via previous work experience or as a specialty of study during your educational pursuits; • Strong verbal and written communication skills; • A demonstrated ability to organize and project manage in a deadline driven environment; • Previous work experience in a job related to free space optics and optical communications; • Understanding of SQL database and queries • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics or Computer Science Apply to job Save to cart View similar jobs JDSU Personal Data Privacy Policy
