Former MbAC Exploration Manager Joins Eagle Star on a Full Time Basis While the Company Hires New Project Manager
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Jan. 15, 2014) - Eagle Star Minerals Corp., (TSX VENTURE:EGE)(PINKSHEETS:ELGSF)(FRANKFURT:E6R) ("Eagle Star" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that Professor Paulo Amorim, Eagle Star's current Senior Exploration Advisor has decided to sign on with the Company on a full time basis and will assume the role of VP of Exploration.
Professor Amorim will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and execution of Eagle Star's 2014 exploration programs for the Bomfim, Ruth and Samba Projects. Prof. Amorim has accumulated a wealth of knowledge in the Brazilian phosphate industry over his 38 year career having spent 22 years of which with mining giant Companhia Vale do Rio Doce ("Vale") fulfilling various senior positions including that of General Manager of Exploration and Acquisitions. Most recently Prof. Amorim was responsible for heading the exploration programs for phosphate producer MbAC Fertilizers Corp. ("MbAC") and for Rio Verde Minerals Development Corp. ("Rio Verde").

In addition to this positive development, Eagle Star is pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Rogerio de Lucena Alves to the Company. Mr. Alves will join the team as the new Project Manager for the Ruth and Samba Projects where he will be responsible for planning and executing the projects' budgets, coordinating drill programs and managing the teams in the field to assure exploration milestones are met within pre-assigned time lines.
Mr. Alves brings with him 12 years of senior level exploration and consulting experience working with international mining companies including the likes of BMM Mineraçao Brazil, Falconbridge Brazil and a five year career with Kinross Gold Corp both internationally and within Brazil. Most recently, Mr. Alves consulted for the Lundin Group's Sirocco Minerals company in South America.
Mr. Alves completed his B.A in Geology from the University of Brasilia, Brazil in 1996 and his M.B.A in 2000 from the State University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Furthermore, the Company has granted an aggregate of 2.6 million stock options at a price of $0.24 per share as per the Company's 2013 stock option plan. The options are valid for a period of 5 years expiring January 13th 2019 and are subject to the provisions of the TSX Venture Exchange.
