Magnesium market

Magnesium market
It would seem that magnesium is going to be in greater demand going forward. Ford motor company may be the first to utilize the very tough new aluminum-magnesium alloy with its F150 trucks but you can bet that all manufacturers will get on board and will use the lightweight metal in cars as well. The motivation is, of course the US's requirement that fuel economy must reach increasingly stringent standards over the next few years. Lighter bodies and new engines are the only way to do it. Even with ev's, the lighter the body, the better. The aluminum alloy has other huge advantages over steel besides its anti-rust property, such as dent resistivity. 1.6% magnesium may not seem like much, but multiply it by 30 to 60 million times, it paints a pretty picture for this new combined company. It's a win-win for NVM no matter what. glta. Split.
